The Crux

Crux means both cross and essential point. In the southern sky, the Crux constellation guides travelers. In cruxOS, it guides computation.

The Determinism Contract

At the heart of cruxOS lies an inviolable contract:

same IR + same seed = same world evolution

This is not merely a technical constraint — it is a philosophical commitment. In a world of chaos and uncertainty, cruxOS offers reproducibility. Every outcome can be traced. Every result can be verified.

Why Determinism?

Non-deterministic systems are fundamentally unknowable. Their behavior cannot be predicted, debugged, or proven. Determinism transforms simulation from observation into science.

Reproducibility

Run the same simulation twice, get identical results.

Traceability

Every state transition can be traced to its cause.

Verifiability

Outcomes can be independently verified by anyone.

The Gas (crx)

Every computation requires energy. In cruxOS, this energy is called crx (pronounced "crux"). It is the gas that powers worlds.

Gas creates scarcity, and scarcity creates meaning. A world that can run forever means nothing. A world with finite breath becomes precious.
